A private peer advisory mastermind for business owners. You bring the real decision. Eleven other owners bring perspective. You leave with clarity and one thing you have committed to do.

What exactly is BGEM?

A room where business owners think together.

Twelve seats

BGEM is a small, confidential room where business owners bring real challenges, important decisions and growth opportunities to people who understand what it is like to run a business.

You don't pay for more information. You join the room for better thinking.

The group brings perspective. The facilitator challenges the thinking. The structure keeps the conversation focused. You leave with greater clarity about what matters and what needs to happen next.

The value is not the meeting. It is the quality of the people, the quality of the thinking, and the quality of the decisions that come out of the room.

Why BGEM, why now

Business ownership can be a lonely place to make important decisions.

Costs are up. Margins are tight. Clients are cautious. Expectations keep moving. And when you are the person responsible, there are very few places where you can put the real issue on the table without managing the room at the same time.

That is the gap BGEM is built to fill. Not another networking breakfast. Not another speaker series. Not another programme full of information you already know.

A private room where you bring the real thing, have your thinking challenged, see it from angles you had not considered, and leave with a decision you are prepared to act on.

You don't need another group to join.
You need the right room to think.

A different kind of room

This isn't networking.

Networking has its place. You are not joining BGEM to collect contacts or promote your business. You are joining because you want a trusted environment where real business thinking can happen.

How BGEM works

Bring the real stuff.

BGEM is built around the issues that actually occupy your mind as an owner, not the ones that are easy to discuss.

01

Bring the challenge

A real issue, opportunity, decision or problem from your business.

02

Open the thinking

Explore it from different perspectives and challenge the assumptions underneath it.

03

Get challenged

Be asked the questions that would not otherwise get asked.

04

Leave with clarity

Name what matters, what happens next, and what you will do about it.

Choose your room

Three rooms. One standard.

Different rooms create different kinds of value. Every BGEM room holds twelve members and runs to the same standard: serious owners, useful challenge, confidentiality, preparation and action.

Room one · Complementary expertise

The Ecosystem Mastermind

12 seats · every 6 weeks · two hours · in person

Built around complementary, non-competing businesses.

Twelve business owners from complementary professional disciplines. Each member brings different expertise to the room, creating a trusted environment for perspective, strategic thinking and meaningful business relationships.

  • Twelve members per room
  • One seat per professional discipline
  • Category exclusivity within the room
  • Potential for trusted introductions and referral relationships
  • Real business challenges at the centre of every session

Room two · Industry experience

The Industry Mastermind

12 seats · every 6 weeks · two hours · in person

Built around a shared commercial environment.

Twelve owners and leaders who understand the same industry, market or operating environment. The shared context creates a level of relevance that is difficult to reach in a general business group.

  • Twelve members per room
  • Shared industry or commercial environment
  • Different roles and perspectives within that environment
  • Relevant conversation about market pressure, opportunity and growth
  • Designed to grow through member referrals and trusted introductions
Industry rooms form around demand. Likely candidates include property, professional services, construction and financial services. Register your industry and you will be told when a room reaches viable numbers.
Register your industry

Room three · Cross-industry

The Open Mastermind

12 seats · every 6 weeks · two hours · in person

Built around diverse business experience.

Twelve owners and self-employed operators from different industries. There is no discipline exclusivity here. The strength of the room comes from the range of experience, the quality of the questions and the willingness to contribute.

  • Twelve members per room
  • Cross-industry perspectives
  • Different business models and stages
  • Real business challenges
  • Focused on practical growth and better decisions

How the room runs

Two hours. Every six weeks. Around a table.

Each room meets in the same slot on a repeating six-week rhythm, giving roughly eight to nine sessions a year. Enough to build trust and continuity, without becoming another weekly commitment.

BGEM rooms meet face to face. The candour the format depends on is difficult to reach through a screen, so every session happens around a real table.

Founding room

South Auckland

Venue confirmed with members once the room is complete.

Founding room

Hamilton

Venue confirmed with members once the room is complete.

Founding room

Tauranga

Venue confirmed with members once the room is complete.

Not in one of these three yet? New rooms open city by city as numbers allow. Apply and name your city, and you will hear when a room near you reaches viable numbers.

The session

A structure built for thinking.

Every session runs the same way, so the room spends less time talking about business and more time thinking about it.

Before you arrive

Two members submit a real business challenge a week ahead. Everyone else reads the brief and prepares three to five questions.

Every third rotation

A guest speaker or focused theme can replace the standard flow, but only where it adds genuine value to the room.

00:00 → 00:10

Opening

One breakthrough, challenge or shift from each member. Fast, focused, no monologues.

00:10 → 00:40

Hot seat one

One real challenge. Prepared questions. Clarity, options, and one action to own.

00:40 → 01:10

Hot seat two

The same process gives a second member the coordinated thinking of the room.

01:10 → 01:40

Group value

Referrals, partnerships, resources and opportunities, where they genuinely serve members.

01:40 → 02:00

Close

Every member states one specific commitment before the next session.

Between sessions, the commitments stand. The next opening round revisits them briefly. The room remembers what you said you would do.

The people are the product

BGEM is only as strong as the room.

We are not trying to fill seats. We are trying to build rooms worth sitting in.

Serious about business

Established owners and operators who are actively building, leading and deciding.

Willing to contribute

The room depends on every member bringing perspective, questions and experience.

Open to challenge

You do not join to have your existing thinking confirmed. You join to improve it.

Confidential by nature

Enough trust for members to discuss the real issue, not the polished version.

Prepared to act

Thinking without action is just another conversation. Members commit specifically.

Generous with experience

The strongest rooms are built by people ready to give as well as receive.

What changes

Better thinking makes better decisions.

Greater clarity

See the real issue beneath the noise.

Better decisions

Decide with more perspective and less isolation.

Fresh perspective

See your business through the eyes of people who understand business.

Constructive challenge

Have your thinking tested before you commit to it.

Strategic focus

Separate what matters from what is merely demanding attention.

Accountability

Turn decisions into action and action into progress.

Founding membership

Serious rooms ask for serious commitment.

BGEM is an annual membership. The founding rate is for the members who help set the standard and culture of the first rooms.

Apply for a place

Before you take a seat

Questions worth asking.

Before a place is offered, Eugene or a BGEM facilitator has a confidential conversation with you about your business, what you are looking for, and which room is most likely to create value for you and for the existing members. Applying does not guarantee membership.

Request a conversation

Where do the rooms actually meet?

In person, around a table. The founding rooms are forming in South Auckland, Hamilton and Tauranga. New rooms open city by city as numbers allow, so name your city when you apply and you will hear when a room near you reaches viable numbers.

Is BGEM another networking group?

No. Networking may happen as a by-product, but it is not the purpose. The room is built around real business challenges, prepared questions, collective thinking and accountability.

How many people are in each room?

Twelve. A smaller room means greater participation, stronger relationships, and more useful attention on each member's situation.

Why is membership selective?

Because the quality of the room is the product. The aim is people who are serious about business, willing to contribute, open to challenge and prepared to act.

What makes each room different?

The Ecosystem room holds one seat per discipline, so members are complementary rather than competitive. The Industry room shares one commercial environment, so conversations go deeper into that market. The Open room deliberately crosses industries, so the value comes from range.

What if I cannot attend every session?

Consistency matters, because the value compounds through relationships and accountability. Members are expected to treat attendance as a genuine annual commitment.

Is there selling from the front of the room?

No. No speakers selling programmes, no members pitching for attention. The room exists for the members and the work they bring to it.

Is the $1,795 rate a lifetime rate?

No. It is the founding first-year rate. Once the founding rooms are established, standard annual membership is $2,495 + GST.

Who facilitates BGEM?

BGEM was created by Eugene Moreau, who sets the philosophy, standards and quality of the experience. As the ecosystem grows, experienced BGEM facilitators lead rooms within those standards.

Founder & lead facilitator

Eugene Moreau

Presentation strategist · Certified master coach

Eugene has spent decades working with business owners, leaders and teams on how they think, communicate, present and perform.

BGEM is built from that experience, but it is not a classroom. As Founder and Lead Facilitator, Eugene sets the standard for the BGEM experience, shapes the philosophy of the rooms, and develops the facilitation team.

As BGEM grows, experienced facilitators lead individual rooms. The aim is consistent quality without making the value of the mastermind depend on any one person.

The goal is not to give members more information. It is to help them make better use of the experience they already have.

The invitation

Don't make every important decision alone.

The right room changes the quality of the decisions you make. Tell us about your business and your city, and Eugene will be in touch to arrange a confidential conversation.

The Ecosystem room holds one seat per discipline, so this decides which seats are open to you.

Naming another city puts you on the list for when a room forms there.

Your details are used only to assess fit and arrange a conversation. They are never shared with other members or third parties. Applying does not guarantee a place.
